School Updates

Dear AL Community,

All our K-9 students that opted for in-person learning are finally back in the classroom almost a year since the beginning of the pandemic. The 7th and 8th graders were very excited to reconnect with their friends face to face this week. As you already know, a survey has been sent to parents so that those who would like to change their learning model for the rest of the school year starting after Spring Break can do so. They have until Wednesday, March 3, at 4 pm to fill it in. Nothing is needed from parents if they want to continue in the same learning model. Their students will either stay online or be moved to 4 days a week once we get to phase 3.

After Spring Break, students will most likely remain either online or in the current hybrid mode (phase 2) as the Reopening Committee continues to monitor the situation. We plan on moving to phase 3 as soon as the conditions allow. Only two options will be available then: all students will be either online or come to school 4 days a week. We will no longer offer the hybrid (2 day a week) option in phase 3. Click here to read our reopening plan. Governor Parson deciding to move teachers' vaccination to mid-March may potentially be a game changer in our reopening process. As always, we will keep you informed as decisions are made.

Have a great weekend.
