Summer School Hours & Re-Enrollment Reminders

Dear AL Community,

Thank you to everyone who has already completed enrollment. If you have completed all the forms through PowerSchool and they now show as “Submitted”, “Approved”, or “Pending”, you are good to go. Our admissions team is in the process of reviewing uploaded documents for over 1,400 students and will reach out if there are any issues.

Today is the last day to re-enroll your student for the 2026–2027 school year and for K–8 Summer School, including transportation. If you have not yet completed re-enrollment for 2026–2027, please do not delay. Need assistance with PowerSchool access or forms? Contact enrollment@academielafayette.org.

If you have a new sibling joining Académie Lafayette, please do not add or enroll them in PowerSchool at this time. New siblings must first apply at www.schoolappkc.org by March 1 and receive a seat offer after the March 4 lottery. Enrollment instructions will be included in the offer email. Any student added prior to receiving a seat offer will be removed.

Because summer transportation is offered only in the afternoon and buses will not run in tiers, summer school hours are adjusted as follows:

  • Armour (6-8): 8:00am - 3:00pm
  • Cherry & Oak (K-5): 8:15am - 3:15pm

Door opening times will be shared soon. We are pleased to offer Upper Room after-school care for elementary students until 6:00 pm.

Families can expect general summer school information and bus confirmations by mid-May. Teacher assignments, allergy information, and field trip calendars will be shared the week before the program begins.

We look forward to a strong and enriching summer at Académie Lafayette.

Have a great weekend.

Host Families Needed for 2026-2027

For more information please contact:

Oak - Crista Peeler, cpeeler@academielafayette.org

Cherry - Danielle Coates, dcoates@academielafayette.org

Meet Oak Intern Clémence Garniron! She is currently working with Mme Baron's kindergarten class.

Q - What is it like living with your host family?

A - My host family is very active and we love spending time together. We love playing board games, having movie nights, baking and roller skating. We like going to the kids' basketball games on evenings and weekends. When we have more time, we like going to the movies or to museums. Most of the time, we gather around dinner and spend quality time together. We're a very social family. We often have people over or meet with friends. We also spend time by ourselves. After school, I study a lot while my family does other things. Overall, I would say we have a good balance of family time. I’m always welcome to spend more time with them but I’m never pressured to do anything.

Cherry Musketeer Market Volunteers Needed

The Cherry campus is in need of volunteer help for their remaining Musketeer Market days. If you are available, it would be greatly appreciated! You would be monitoring K - 5th graders getting their prizes from the Class Dojo points they earned the month prior. Class lists with winner information will be provided. Teachers will accompany their classes. Click here to view dates and times.

EIP 2026: Cirque — Tickets on Sale March 6!

The countdown is on. Evening in Paris 2026 tickets go on sale Friday, March 6. Set your reminder, rally your friends and get ready. On May 2, The Gallery at Power & Light becomes a vintage French cirque dream. Immersive. High-energy. Surprises around every corner!

With 350+ guests in the room and thousands more reached through newsletters, marketing and our online auction, EIP sponsorship is a meaningful way to support Académie Lafayette while gaining real visibility. Interested in promoting your business while investing in a school and mission you support? Multiple sponsorship levels and underwriting options are available.

And the auction…we want the wow factor! Exclusive experiences, one-of-a-kind items, creative packages, community parties, etc. Every donation directly supports our students and teachers.

To play a part in making this the best EIP yet, contact Hollie Vogel at hvogel@academielafayette.org.

Wanted: ALIHS Professional Opportunities

As summer approaches, our ALIHS students are eager to broaden their horizons and gain meaningful, real-world experience. We are fortunate to have a community of talented professionals among our families, and we would love to partner with you.

If you have an internship opportunity for high school students at your workplace, please reach out to Liz Seely at lseely@academielafayette.org. Even if your organization does not currently have a formal internship program, we welcome the opportunity to collaborate with you to create a job shadow, project-based experience, or other meaningful way for a student to contribute.

Our students bring skills and interests across a wide range of fields, including health care, coding, graphic design, engineering, journalism, education, and technical careers. Thank you for considering how you might support our students as they explore their future pathways.
