Dear AL Community,
This week, we proudly celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week — an opportunity to recognize the dedicated educators who make a lasting difference in the lives of our students each and every day.
Teaching has changed significantly over the past several years. Since COVID, educators across the country have faced new challenges while continuing to support students academically, socially, and emotionally. At Académie Lafayette, our teachers continue to meet those challenges with resilience, creativity, and care. Their work is strongest when paired with the partnership and support of families, and we are grateful for the trust our parents place in our schools every day.
As superintendent, I would also like to recognize the many staff members who support teaching and learning across our district. Our paraprofessionals, counselors, librarians, nurses, office staff, custodians, transportation teams, food service workers, and administrators all play an essential role in creating safe, welcoming, and successful learning environments for students.
A special thank you goes to our PTO, our families, and our partners at Saint Louis University for the thoughtful meals, treats, notes, and acts of appreciation shared throughout the week. These gestures truly mean so much to our staff.
I also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our Development Department and everyone who contributed to making EIP 2026 such a fun and successful event. The Evening in Paris: Cirque celebration was a powerful reminder of what is possible when our community comes together in support of our schools. The time, coordination, and care that went into this event made a meaningful impact, and we are deeply grateful for all who helped bring it to life.
Thank you to all who help make Académie Lafayette such a caring and supportive community.
Have a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend.
