New School Year Updates

Dear AL Community,

As we are getting closer to the start of school year, here are a few notable updates:

Our remodeled website is now live! We hope that you will enjoy the new streamlined design that also includes a section for our international high school. Please be aware that there might be some times where the site is unavailable this weekend while our content loads. Along with the website, we also got a new logo that reflects all of AL: the oak and cherry leaves, the armor, our global mission and our mascot the musketeer. Thank you to AL parent Marianne Eppelheimer for designing the logo and to AL alumna parent Angela Michka and her team for the beautiful website overhaul.

New teachers and staff officially joined our team and started their onboarding last Monday. We are thrilled to welcome them to the AL family! Our returning teachers will start back this Monday. Over the summer, we said goodbye to development director Chris Neher. We wish him well in his new adventures.

We are working on fulfilling the demand for Chromebooks. Please understand that there might be a waiting period until you can get a device.

The schedule outlines for 2nd-9th grade are ready and shared below. The K-1 schedule outline will be released early next week and emailed directly to K-1 families.

Mark your calendars for our Meet the Teacher events next week: 8/18 for ALIHS and 8/20 for our elementary and middle schools.

We love our AL family! Join our private Facebook group to get news, updates and questions answered by other parents and staff.

Thank you for your patience and support as we work together to make this a great school year!

Kinsa FLUency programNurseFlu

Dear AL families,

As we approach the school year, the nursing and social work teams would like to help support your families as much as possible.  This program is only available for our K-5 families.

Académie Lafayette has once again been granted a spot in the Kinsa FLUency program for the 20-21 school year. This program, which normally starts in late September, has added a waitlist feature this year due to COVID-19 which allows families to sign up for the program early.  The FLUency program gives one free Kinsa thermometer to interested families in the community and provides a community illness tracker in their app so families can see what illnesses are going around the school community.  All personal information is kept completely private while notifying the broader AL community of communicable illnesses.
