So Great to See Everyone Again!
|
Dear AL Community,
The first week of school was busy, as expected. It was wonderful to have students back in the buildings. We apologize for the hiccups that happened with our new bus transportation provider at the beginning of the week and thank you for your patience as we problem-solved. We hope every student had a stellar week!
On Saturday, August 13, the board of directors started our 5-year strategic plan review. In attendance were also teachers, parents, school administrators, and our sponsor SLU. The planning committee reviewed our district data and discussed four strategic goals. Once complete, the plan will be published on our website and its implementation will start.
As for 2022-2023, Académie Lafayette will be focusing on the following school-wide priorities:
- Ensuring student and staff safety & well-being
- Promoting diversity, inclusion, and equity in our schools
- Refocusing on French immersion and parent education in bilingual education
- Addressing students learning gap due to the Covid-19 pandemic
- Hiring, supporting, and retaining highly effective educators
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the parents who have accepted to host our interns, welcome our new teachers, or volunteer to make our schools ready for the new school year.
Have a great weekend.

A Message From Cherry and Oak
|
|
Dear Oak and Cherry Parents,
You are invited to Student Success Night at both campuses on September 1 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. This is an event for parents, and we will not be able to provide child care. The purpose of this evening is to give teachers an opportunity to introduce themselves in greater detail and to share information about their curriculum, schedule, and class procedures. We hope you will be able to join us to get to know your child's teacher and to hear more about what your child will be learning this year.
We will have 2 sessions (6:00-6:40 and 6:50-7:30), so parents with more than one child can visit both teachers. English and Specials teachers will also be there to share information about their classes.
We look forward to seeing you on September 1!

Dear Armour Families,
It is a delight to have our students back in school where they are learning and experiencing a host of new opportunities and events. The staff and I appreciate your trust in us and aim to do an excellent job educating our students. One of our main priorities this year is to build strong and positive partnerships with our families, so we invite your active support.
Please be reminded that Wednesday, August 31, will be our Student Success Night from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. You will have the opportunity to meet your child's teachers and hear about what they will be learning in the different contents. You will rotate through the core classes and participate in an informational session. Schedules will be provided upon your arrival.
We look forward to having a successful school year and encourage your active participation in our school.
Maritza Paul
