K-8 Student Success Night Information

Dear AL Parents,

Please join us for Student Success Night at Cherry and Oak on Thursday, September 4 from 6:00-7:30.

This evening is for parents and guardians to meet key staff members, learn about our immersion program, get updates on the 25-26 school year, and hear from their child's teacher.

Timeline:

  • 6:00 - 6:20 pm: Parent session in the auditorium with the principal (welcome new families, introduce new teachers, French Immersion 101, focus of the year)
  • 6:25 - 6:55 pm: Session #1
  • 7:00 -7:30 pm: Session #2 (for parents with more than one child- or with the specials/ELA teachers)
  • 7:30 pm: Dismissal

The two sessions will be the same- we do this so that parents can see more than one teacher.

Armour Middle School Student Success Night is happening on Wednesday, September 3, 6-7:30 pm. Information will be shared with families before the event.

See you then!

AL Insights

Calling All Académie Lafayette Artists

The $10,000 Cash Raffle is launching at the end of September. We need AL students to put their creative caps on and help design the official 2025 Raffle T-Shirt!

Contest instructions will be provided to students next week. Each student can submit up to three designs; submissions are due Friday, September 12.

Part of a long-standing AL tradition, these t-shirts are earned through ticket sales during the Raffle. Students are can proudly wear these shirts every week on T-Shirt Tuesday and as their PE uniform top.

Volunteers Needed for Oak After-School Garden Club

GreenAL would love to offer an after school Garden Club for K-5 students at Oak campus, and we need your help to make it happen!

The club will meet on the Oak street side of the school grounds for an hour right after dismissal. We will provide hands-on activities, and kids are also free to roam and explore the orchard and the butterfly garden. To make this format work, we need three adult leaders per session, who will ensure the students' safety, help them access the building (bathroom), and oversee dismissal at the end of the session.

With enough volunteers, we plan to meet on Wednesdays from 3:15-4:15, and run a 6 to 8-week session starting in early to mid-September. Please contact GreenAL at greenal.academielafayette@gmail.com for questions or sign up here if you are available to help even for one or two sessions!

Van Drivers Wanted

We are looking for van drivers for morning and/or afternoon routes! Pay is $20/hour.
