Chris Willis is in his 10th year at BGSU. He is an associate professor in the School of Educational Foundations, Leadership, & Policy where he teaches in the Educational Leadership program and is the graduate coordinator of the Leadership Studies doctoral program. In those programs he teaches classes in instructional leadership, special education law, organizational change, and leadership for diversity. His research currently focuses on trying to understand how school administrators shape and lead special education programming in their schools.
He is the proud dad to four kids, Sam (Portland, OR), Gus (Lexington, KY), Mary Claire (Olympia, WA), and George (Boulder, CO).Before coming to BGSU he worked at Mississippi State University and prior to that was a high school principal in Indiana. He is an avid cyclist and you might see him riding to and from campus or on various country roads in Wood Co. In 2021 he completed a 3200 mile cross country ride that passed right through Bowling Green. Willis lives in Perrysburg with his fiancé, Jennifer McClain, whom he convinced to do a self-supported ride from Cincinnati to Cleveland last summer.
Dr. Willis is a valuable member of BGSU's graduate faculty, Graduate Council, and Graduate Policies and Standards sub-committee, where he is serving his second term as chair. The Graduate College thanks him for his dedication!
