Northland Christian Academic Decathlon Region Champs - State bound!
The Northland Christian Academic Decathlon Team placed 1st in the Region VI Competition this past weekend. The region competition included 21 schools from surrounding districts including Klein, Aldine, Spring, and more. This year, the NCS ACADEC Program is made up of 19 students, nine of which were selected as The NCS Region Team. The team has been preparing since July.

Academic Decathlon, also known as ACADEC, is an annual high school academic competition organized by the non-profit United States Academic Decathlon (USAD). The competition consists of ten events that require knowledge in art, economics, language and literature, math, music, science, and social science. These topics, with the exception of math, are thematically linked each year. This year’s theme is Water: A Most Essential Resource. In addition to the seven objective events, there are three subjective events graded by judges: essay, interview, and speech.

We are so proud of the NCS ACADEC Program. The program prides itself on hard work, teamwork, and perseverance. Some of the team will compete in an Octathlon competition in April while The NCS Region Team including Kelly Van Stone, Brooklyn Freeman, Colton Holiday, Danielle Rangel, Cade Meekins, Major Peterson, Cade Carpenter, Cole Meekins, and Noah Marx will head to San Antonio for the STATE Decathlon competition later this month.
