Happy New Year! This was the greeting I looked forward to extending to faculty and staff colleagues at Susquehanna University, which traditionally holds a lovely reception and dinner the evening before new students arrive each fall. Of course, last year’s event was a casualty of the altered circumstances of the pandemic. No doubt, all of you, like my old colleagues at Susquehanna were looking forward all summer to a more normal start of the new year. Alas, the unexpected rise of infections owed to the Delta variant of Covid-19 are changing plans for all of us again. Nevertheless, I will persist in wishing you and your colleagues the very best for this new academic year. All of us who are called to serve in higher education are blessed to do the consequential work of preparing new generations of citizens to carry out the hard work of democracy, to strive for making our society more just and inclusive, and for the critical discovery work that yields advancements in every field of human endeavor. All of us at Academic Search salute you for your leadership and send along our very best wishes for the 2021-2022 academic year. Please do let me know how we can be of help and support to you and your team.
