Academic Search Partners with CUMU
What will the state of higher education be in 2030? For its 2020 Annual Conference, the Coalition of Urban and Metropolitan Universities (CUMU) invited transformational leaders to imagine higher education ten years from now and share perspectives on how to push the conversation forward. Academic Search was honored to sponsor this virtual event and our president, Jay Lemons, served as moderator for the keynote address. He was joined by an exceptional trio of leaders: Terri Givens, CEO and founder of The Center for Higher Education Leadership, now known as Brighter Higher Ed; Michael Fitts, president of Tulane University; and Michael Hinojosa, superintendent of Dallas Independent School District. We invite you to watch their session.
Other Recent Conference Engagements
Last month, Academic Search partnered with the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) to lead a salient discussion entitled Presidential Success Strategies: The Value of Onboarding and Executive Coaching. Academic Search President Jay Lemons served as facilitator, and panelists included Dolly Martínez, The CUNY chancellor’s chief of staff and associate vice chancellor for the executive office; Steve Titus, the practice leader for Academic Search’s Executive Coaching Practice; and Ginny Horvath, Senior Consultant.
Senior Consultant Andrea Warren Hamos presented at The Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) CAO Institute earlier this month. She facilitated a session on Building Strong Academic Affairs Teams with panelists Sandra G. Affenito, Provost and Dean of the Faculty at Norwich University; Jeffrey Frick, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College at Washington & Jefferson College; and Kathy Ogren, Provost at University of Redlands. They spoke about approaches to defining roles and developing and recruiting talent to the academic team, including searching for, hiring, and onboarding new administrators. Many other Academic Search team members were also in attendance and enjoyed interacting with participants, even virtually.
