AWQ Study Guide & Pledge Form
Official AWQ Study Guide
WACA is excited to release the Academic WorldQuest 2022-2023 Study Guide! (Download the official AWQ Study Guide using the link above.)

This guide contains essential information for Councils, teachers, and students to prepare for all AWQ high school competitions this academic year. Key logistical information, rules and regulations, and curriculum content is contained in the guide; this can also be accessed from the WACA website here: Academic WorldQuest Study Guide.

Please distribute the official AWQ Study Guide to the appropriate Council staff, volunteers, and partner schools. Competition questions covering this year's AWQ Topics (except for Current Events) will be drawn from AWQ Study Guide source material, for both local and national competitions.

Councils: Pledge Your Participation Now
To confirm your Council's participation in the Academic WorldQuest 2022-2023 program, please fill out and submit this Pledge Form by November 30, 2022

AWQ Local Competition Questions
WACA is now compiling a full set of questions based on the AWQ Study Guide. We will distribute the AWQ Question Packet to Councils for use in local competitions. To receive the packet, please submit your Pledge Form.

Great Decisions
The Foreign Policy Association will provide each participating Council with one complimentary copy of the Great Decisions 2022 Briefing Book. Indicate your request for this free copy by submitting your Pledge Form.

Note: The Great Decisions Briefing Book is required study material for the Carlos and Malú Alvarez 2023 Academic WorldQuest National Competition. However, the Briefing Book is NOT required reading for local competitions. To prepare for local AWQ competitions, WACA recommends that students read Issue 9 and Issue 11 of the FPA High School Magazine for Great Decisions.
