'No Guest' Periods in Residence
Please note that guests are not permitted in Residence during the following periods:
Who Counts as a Guest?
A guest is any non-resident of your Residence building. When hosting in your assigned Residence room, a guest is any non-resident of that room. Anyone visiting you (whether signed in under your name or not) is considered to be your guest even if they live in a different Queen’s Residence building.
You can review section 3.10 in your Residence Contract for more information.

Smudging space in Endaayaan – Tkanónsote Room 290
Residence Life and Services is happy to share that we now have a dedicated Smudging Room available for use by students in Residence.
The Smudging Room, located in Endaayaan – Tkanónsote Room 290, is now accessible to students 24/7, 7 days a week. Students can sign out a fob from the Endaayaan – Tkanónsote front desk (3–11 pm only) and Victoria Hall (24/7).
We are investigating options to make this a bookable space.
- Students do not need to request permission from the Office of Indigenous Initiatives prior to Smudging taking place in this space.
- Campus Security and Emergency Services are not required to be notified prior to Smudging taking place in this space.
- Materials used for Smudging must be burned in an earthenware bowl, a large shell, or other fireproof vessel during periods of prayer and meditation.
-
Students are responsible for providing their own materials. Indigenous students can reach out to Four Directions Indigenous Student Centre if they need access to medicines.
- Doors shall remain closed for the duration of the Smudging and until all smoke has dissipated.
- Fully extinguish and safely dispose of any material remaining after Smudging.
