Dear Columbus Academy Community,
Many of you know that Dominic Facciolla is retiring in June after 20 years of highly successful leadership as Columbus Academy's Athletic Director. Under Dominic, the school has had 22 state championship teams and 28 state runner-up squads in addition to 26 individual state champions and 39 individual state runners-up. Just today, we celebrated our golf program's 2018 state title and have teams and individuals in fall state championships (field hockey and cross country) not yet decided.

We knew that in replacing Dominic, the person we chose would need to have the character qualities and expertise with coaches and students that he embodies. After a broad national search with dozens of highly qualified candidates, we found that person right here in our own parent body.

Jason Singleton
I am so pleased that Jason Singleton P'26 '27 will be Columbus Academy's next Director of Athletics. He joins us most recently from The Ohio State University, where he presently holds the position of Assistant Athletic Director. He also has an extensive background as a professional and student-athlete, youth coach, teacher and NCAA compliance officer.

Raised in Detroit, Jason is a 2000 graduate from OSU with a B.A. in Communication. As a senior captain of the men's basketball team, he helped the Buckeyes reach the NCAA Final Four. He then enjoyed a professional basketball career in Europe and Australia.

After retiring as a professional player, Jason returned to his hometown, earned his M.A. in Educational Administration from Central Michigan University and worked for CITY Year as a teacher and coach in the Detroit Public Schools. From there, he joined the NCAA compliance team while also working with iHoops and the NCAA First Team Program. He was hired at OSU to be part of the university's compliance team and then began to develop greater responsibilities in administration. He currently is responsible for the men's basketball program.

Jason and his wife Candice have two young Vikings, fifth-grader Jason and fourth-grader Kyndal. Please join me in welcoming Jason into his new role at the school.

Warmly,

Head of School
