Letter from the Executive Director
Scott Mercer
Executive Director
Hello Members and Supporters,

The State of Massachusetts has recently issued new guidelines with their Phase 2 of the COVID-19 reopening plan.

As we continue to assess those guidelines and review the demands of each Phase of re-emergence as they become available, we will consider them relative to our operations and the potential impact and risk on staff, members and the community.
In addition, discussions with other PEG organizations and facilities take place to learn some of the approaches being implemented or avoided to ensure a safe reopening.

Based on member survey responses, 67% believe the facility shouldn’t be open and 33% were ok with it being open. For now, the facilities will remain closed and we will continue to provide remote services until we can safely open without risk to staff and visitors.

In this newsletter, in case you missed them, there are some offerings that can assist you in achieving production safely from home. If you require any support, we encourage you to reach out to staff members in their respective departments to provide you with any necessary guidance, tutorials and training for Zoom interviews, editing, lighting or file transfer.

We’ve also added a Newsletter Archive to the website for reference of past tips and clips as resources.

If you missed any coverage of the historical Nobscot Chapel move, you’ll find those videos in this newsletter along with the article about how the move was used as part of the Hemenway school’s STEAM curriculum.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during these challenging times. We hope you and yours continue to remain safe and well.

Sincerely,

Scott Mercer
Executive Director

Nobscot Chapel move serves as STEAM lesson for students
Students at Framingham’s Hemenway Elementary were originally scheduled to watch in person as workers moved the historic Nobscot Chapel. But as the coronavirus pandemic swept the state, forcing schools to close, Superintendent of Schools Robert Tremblay decided to adapt the plan for remote learning and include students from across the district.

AFTV's own Frank Morello was there to capture the historic move!
