Like many of you, we are very disappointed it is no longer business as usual with members and visitors actively moving about the studio facilities to record programs, check out equipment, edit projects and programs, or just stop by for a visit or meeting.
We believe, like so many other organizations and businesses, it was the right decision to take early action to close the facility and prepare staff to work from home. As I continue to watch and monitor the news in Framingham and throughout the country, I am grateful to know, thus far, that our staff and board remain healthy. I hope the same is true for our members and the supporters we serve.
While Framingham has not been as fortunate as an entire community, Access Framingham continues to offer services and support to the city and school officials by providing communication and production services, technical and technology consultation, updates and content distribution, so they can communicate to the community as a whole. We are just one of many spokes in the wheel trying to keep people safe, calm and informed.
As you’ll see in this Newsletter, we have a variety of information and activities to share. It’s my hope that at least one of them allows you a much needed distraction from the daily concerns we all face as we hunker down and work together to get through this together.
I do look forward to when I can return to the office and be interrupted by a member stopping by just to say, "Hi" or hear the music playing from Studio A through my abutting office wall during a HamJams recording or the staff debating whether Tom Brady will do well in Tampa Bay (sorry, that one hurt). That’s when I'll know it’s back to business as usual.
Until then… Enjoy the information in the newsletter and please adhere to the social distancing, not just for you, but for everybody, and stay safe!
Sincerely,
Scott Mercer
Executive Director
