On Tuesday, February 8th the royal descendants of the swans gifted by Queen Elizabeth II celebrated their 65th Anniversary on Lake Morton. On that day in 1957, the two swans gifted by Queen Elizabeth II arrived on Lake Morton in downtown Lakeland. Since that time, Lakeland’s swans have become iconic figures in the community and even the City’s logo is fashioned after the birds.

Plantopia
Garden Festival 2022
Hollis Garden will host the Plantopia Garden Festival on February 26th from 10 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. The event is FREE and there will be a number of vendors selling a variety of locally grown plant-life.

Calling all artists!
The call for art for the next Arts & Rec exhibit is open until February 28th. The theme for this exhibit is ‘Nature and Balance’. Art chosen for this showing will be on display at Kelly Recreation, Simpson Park, Coleman-Bush Building, and Lake Crago through June 19th. 

Toilet Rebate Program
The City of Lakeland is offering a rebate of up to $100 per toilet. To qualify, you must replace commercial and/or residential high-flow toilets using 3.5 gallons or more per flush with 1.28 gallons per flush WaterSense® toilets.
Participation will help Lakeland meet its water conservation goals and could save you water and money!
