“The LORD is my refuge, and my God is the rock of my confidence.”
Psalm 94:22
Imagine living for years listening to people talk but being unable to fully express your thoughts to the people around you. If you want to hear more about this and what we can learn from people with this lived experience, join us Monday, June 16 to hear James Scannell, a fellow Anglican, and another friend of his, Ben Crimm, co-present:
The Truth about Nonspeakers: Let Us Spell it out for You.
The presentation will touch on the following questions:
- What does nonspeaking mean? Who is nonspeaking? And how does it affect our lives?
- Why can't we use our mouths to communicate?
- How do we communicate and how did we learn to do it?
- How are schools failing us?
-
What is the Spellers and Allies Advocacy Network?
- How can you help us?
I met James a few years ago online and recently was blessed to meet him and his family in person while in Pittsburgh. James continues to impress me with the depth of his relationship with God and the profound spiritual thinking and insights he shares. James’ life seems to be strengthened like the writer of Psalm 94:22, “The LORD is my refuge, and my God is the rock of my confidence.” James cares and prayers for others as he continues to grow and minister as God leads him.
This presentation from the Spellers & Allies Advocacy Network (S&A) was conceived of and developed by a group of nonspeakers who use Spelling to Communicate (S2C) to express their thoughts and ideas accurately. They spelled it out one letter at a time. You may have someone in your church or circle of friends who would like to know more. Please invite them to join the virtual presentation.
