It's the weekend again - YIPPEE!
Please remember to stay smart and follow the guidelines put in place.
Happy Mother's Day to all!

  1. Businesses should review the “Renew PEI, Together” plan. This plan outlines the phases in the recovery stage and identifies when certain businesses and organizations can start to reopen under new conditions.
  2. Review the Principles and Guidelines on the Renew PEI website. These principles and guidelines are relevant for all stages of the recovery plan.
  3. Connect with industry associations to develop a general set of guidelines and principles for operating. (Examples: Golf, Harness Racing, etc.) For those businesses who do not have an industry association, they should connect with like-minded businesses to work together on shared guidelines and principles.
  4. Each organization or business will need to complete an Operational Plan outlining how their business, service or organization is prepared for COVID-19. The CPHO has a template available on our website that provides guidance for developing these plans. These plans should be created before providing services.

Ryan Neale, Environmental Health Officer with the Department of Health and Wellness will work with industries looking to develop or discuss operational plans and/or how public health rule impact specific industries or situations. He can be reached by email HERE

  • Every business needs to have a written down Operational Plan that can be produced if requested by Public Health or an inspector. These do not have to be pre-approved by the Public Health Department before you can open your business.
  • Check with your industry, maybe they have developed one already and you can adapt it to your business.
  • Things to consider: signage, enhanced cleaning practices, handwashing/sanitizing procedures, daily screening staff process, how will your business practice the physical distancing, how many people can be accommodated in your business/building, are you providing public washrooms and if so the cleaning procedures.
