Free COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic

People aged 18 or older who live or work in Cambridge can receive the Johnson & Johnson one-shot COVID-19 vaccination for FREE and without an appointment. You do NOT need to bring ID, insurance, or Social Security information, and getting a vaccine will not affect immigrant status.

The clinic is located on the 2nd floor of Cambridgeside Mall, above the food court. Free parking is available in the lower level of the garage. The Cambridgeside Mall is wheelchair accessible.

ReelAbilities Boston Film Festival, 10th Anniversary. Screening Online May 6-13 2021

ReelAbilities Boston Film Series kicks off this Thursday, May 6 at 7:00 PM with an online live conversation with author and visual artist Riva Lehrer. The author will discuss her new memoir, Golem Girl, and her search for a livable, subversive identity in a society afraid of strange bodies.

CCPD is co-sponsoring this event and both CART/live captioning and ASL interpretation will be provided.

The ReelAbilities Boston Film Festival runs from May 6 through May 13, and all events and film screenings are free, but registration is required.

Need Help Paying Your Rent or Mortgage because of COVID-19?Applications Still Being Accepted for the City's

COVID-19 Housing Stabilization Program

The City of Cambridge COVID-19 Housing Stabilization Program (HSP) is still accepting applications from first-time applicants! HSP serves to provide short term financial assistance to individuals and families in Cambridge who are experiencing housing instability due to the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Cambridge residents who meet eligibility requirements and who have not yet received funding from this program may qualify for up to six months of a rent or mortgage stipend. Need Help Paying Your Heating Bill? Apply for Fuel Assistance by May 28

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Eversource and National Grid stopped shutting services off when households were unable to pay their bills, but that will end in July 2021. Beginning in July, the utilities will turn service off for households that have an overdue balance on their accounts. If you need help paying for your heating bills from this past winter, apply for fuel assistance by May 28, 2021. Residents may apply online or call 617-665-6234 for help.

Emergency Broadband Benefit Helps Households

Struggling to Pay for Internet Service During COVID-19

The Federal Communication Commission's (FCC) Emergency Broadband Benefit will provide a discount of up to $50 per month towards broadband internet service for eligible households. Eligible households can also receive a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating providers if they contribute more than $10 and less than $50 toward the purchase price.

Households can apply for the program beginning on Wednesday, May 12 and must meet certain criteria to qualify.

NOTE: CCPD is meeting via Zoom on the 2nd Thursday of each month, including Thursday, May 13, from 5:30 - 7:00 PM. Meeting agendas will be posted on our calendar, which can be found at cambridgema.gov/ccpd, a minimum of 48 hours ahead of time. All are welcome!
