City Manager Seeks Applicants
for CCPD Advisory Board

Cambridge City Manager Louis A. DePasquale is seeking to fill vacancies on the Cambridge Commission for Persons with Disabilities (CCPD) advisory board.
CCPD works to increase access to all aspects of Cambridge community life for people with disabilities. CCPD raises awareness about disability issues and promotes equal opportunity for people with a range of abilities, including physical, mental, and sensory. CCPD provides information, referrals, guidance, and technical assistance to individuals and their families, employers, public agencies, businesses and private non-profit organizations.

The CCPD board has 11 members who serve as volunteers for three-year terms. CCPD Board Members:
- Must be Cambridge residents
- Represent different disabilities, diverse cultures and races, and all parts of Cambridge
- Attend monthly meetings, held the second Thursday of every month at 5:30 p.m.
- Take part in Working Groups and work on projects as needed
- Work with other members and the office staff to carry out the CCPD Ordinance (CMC Chapter 2.96).

- a résumé or summary of relevant experience that includes disability-related issues or projects that interest you

Need Help Paying Winter Heating Bills?
|
|
The Fuel Assistance Program helps low-income households pay for heating between November 1 and April 30. Renters and homeowners in both Cambridge and Somerville are eligible to apply if they meet federal income guidelines.
If your heat has been shut off or you are facing immediate utility shutoff, fuel assistance can be provided within 24 hours to eligible applicants.

Universal Design Playground

Several vibrant works of art by Dominic Killiany have been installed at the Universal Design Playground. Dominic has been painting and drawing since he was a toddler. For the paintings represented in this park, Dominic draws inspiration from his favorite subjects, including animals, landscapes, and cityscapes. His imagery is often complex, incorporating noticeable brushstrokes, intricate geometries, intense color palettes, and sometimes hidden letters and numbers. In the artist’s own words, “Painting makes me happy.”
Based in Watertown, Dominic is a graduate of Nashoba Learning Group (2016) and Boston Higashi (2020), private schools for children and young adults with autism. Learn more about Dominic at www.dominicreations.com/about.

COVID-19 Testing & Mask Updates
|
|
With significant decreases in COVID-19 cases, the City of Cambridge will no longer require masks to be worn in indoor public places as of Monday, March 14. However, the mask mandate for employees and visitors in City buildings will remain in effect through Sunday, March 27. Masks continue to be required on public and private transportation and in healthcare facilities and certain other settings.
The City continues to provide free daily COVID-19 testing. Appointments and additional information about the testing program are available at www.cambridgema.gov/covid19/Testing.
Residents are strongly encouraged to get vaccinated if they are not already.
