Earlier this month, E&J Gallo and Constellation Brands finalized an $810 million mega-deal. The acquisition included 30 wine brands and five wineries, and was negotiated with the Federal Trade Commission for more than a year over the agency's concern that the proposed acquisition could decrease competition in the US wine category.
