Senior Engineer Zach Weimer, M.S., P.E. covered accident reconstruction including various impact configurations, defining impact type (direction) and severity (magnitude), typically available evidence, and methods of analysis in low-speed collisions. Mr. Weimer also covered the Event Data Recorder data (EDR; aka black boxes) and provided examples of EDR data and use in low-speed accident reconstruction analyses.
President Jeff Wheeler, M.S. led a panel of subject-specific experts who then presented injury biomechanics in low-speed motor vehicle collisions:
Steve Storvik, M.S.presented spine injury biomechanics including VSI's research and testing with live human volunteers in low-speed rear-end collisions.
Michio Clark, Ph.D.covered concussion injury biomechanics including his experience with head impact research in sports and applications to low-speed collisions.
