Accreditation is a word that people can usually broadly define, and it is almost always understood that accreditation equates with quality, compliance, and recognition. But when asked how an entity becomes accredited or even why - they may not always have the answer. As a consulting organization, we run into this often.
Based on experience, we have noticed that when everyone on staff is fully aware of not only what accreditation is, but why it is important and how it’s going to be achieved, there is a greater chance that both the process, and the outcome, will provide a positive and lasting change to the organization.
So, this month, we are taking things back to the basics – whether you are starting the process of accreditation or are thinking about it – we want to help you (or someone in your organization) better understand the why and how. To that end, we’ve included a "Where to Start" video, an Accreditation 101 blog and links to ideas and information to think about when reflecting on all aspects of accreditation. Also, be sure to check out the conferences section and if you are attending a conference – drop by to visit Jennifer at the AG booth to get your questions answered from the Accreditation Guru herself!
