Pride 2022: A Message from Bishop Rickel
Diocese of Olympia at the Seattle Pride Parade This Sunday
June 26, 11:00am | Downtown Seattle

Episcopal LGBTQIA+ members, friends, family, and allies! You're invited to march with the Diocese of Olympia in the Seattle Pride Parade!
Two important resolutions from our Convention going to General Convention
Last fall, our Diocese overwhelmingly passed two resolutions regarding Palestinian rights. One is a resolution for General Convention that condemns Israel’s occupation and oppression of Palestinians and urges our government to take action in opposition. The other is an Education Resolution, directing us in our own Diocese to learn more about the Palestinian situation.
A Call for Nominations for 2022 Diocesan Convention
To prepare for elections at diocesan convention (October 21-22, 2022), the Nominations
Committee is now calling for candidates to represent our diocese in four areas: Diocesan
Council (4 regional positions clergy or lay and 1 Lay at-large), Standing Committee (1 lay, 1
clergy, and 1 clergy unexpired term), the Commission on Ministry, and at General
Convention 2024 (4 clergy and 4 lay, plus 4 alternates in each order). If you’d like to propose someone for consideration to serve on any of these groups, we encourage you to email the Committee Chair, The Rev. Nic Mather at [email protected] by
Friday, August 5th. Our committee will identify and confirm the slate of candidates for election that we have received by Tuesday, September 6th (45 days prior to the proposed date of convention). By canon, additional nominees may be recognized at convention. If you have questions about this process, please contact The Rev. Nic Mather at
[email protected]. Thank you very much for your help in this effort on behalf of our diocese!

To make this process simple, the Diocese of Olympia partners with FreeWill to offer members of our community a free estate planning resource. You can use this online tool to write your legal will, for free in 20 minutes or less and protect the people, communities, and ministries you love — forever.

Are You Interested in Online Ministry?
There is a new group conversation starting on Twitter. There is so much we can do, but we have to crowdsource the information. There is no way that we should all learn the same lessons on our own. Let's Talk!!

If you want to add your story and hear other stories about how to make online ministry work, join this community.

The ECWW Contemplative Practices Online Community
Our online contemplative group practices are like those offered at many in-person churches in the diocese, but primarily serve contemplatives from small churches/communities without in-person resources or for whom current in-person meeting times aren’t convenient. Please see the practice pages for in-person contemplative practice opportunities and let us know if you’d like to have your in-person meeting information included. Feel free to join as convenient for you. It would be very helpful as we plan our programming to hear about how our schedule suits yours. If we have enough interest around an additional day/time, we may be able start a new group. Please contact Sylvia Sepulveda at [email protected] or 206.325.4200 x2042.
