Your Advocacy Help Needed to Support Continued NEA Funding!
Dear CDSS members and friends,
The Summer CDSS News is in the mail, and in it you'll find an article outlining both practical and philosophical reasons that CDSS advocates for the National Endowment for the Arts. In a nutshell: NEA funding supports CDSS and individual artists in our community, and we deeply believe that music, dance, song, and art make the world a better place.
On Wednesday, the US House Appropriations Committee approved funding for the NEA at $155 million for FY 2019, a $2 million increase. This proposed funding affirmed the House subcommittee's action in May and meets the ask of advocates from Arts Advocacy Day in March!
Contacting your U.S. Senators now is a very key point in this process for FY 2019 funding. And we need your help. Ask your U.S. Senators to match the House support of a minimum of $155 million for the NEA in FY 2019.
We hope you'll join us in raising your voice for the arts. Participating in this call to action couldn't be easier! Katy set up her profile with the Arts Action Fund and with a few clicks a well-worded pre-populated email was sent to two NC senators, two MA senators, and her two NC representatives.
