Episcopal Peace Fellowship Maine has advocated for common sense gun safety measures in this legislative session. It is no surprise that the results in the committees of jurisdiction, Criminal Justice and Public Safety (CJPS) and State and Local Government (SLG), have been mixed.
The following bills are coming up for a vote in the House and Senate this week and we need your support to encourage legislators to SUPPORT/OPPOSE:
LD 759 – An Act to Amend the Child Endangerment Law to Include Certain Unauthorized Access to a Loaded Firearm (CJPS) – testimony here(SUPPORT)
LD 805 – An Act to Allow Municipalities to Prohibit Firearms in a Voting Place (SLG) – testimony here(SUPPORT)
LD 976 – An Act to Amend the Definition of “Machine Gun” to Include Bump Stock Devices (CJPS) - testimony here(SUPPORT)

Please call or email your representative and senator today and ask them to support/oppose (as indicated above) these common sense gun safety bills.
