New health care bill limits access to mental health services
Congress is back from summer recess and
Senators Bill Cassidy (R-LA) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) just introduced a
that is DANGEROUS for people with mental illness.
The Graham-Cassidy Bill:
allows states to drop the requirement to cover mental health care.
shifts Medicaid funding to a "per capita cap" system, which forces states to cut Medicaid services and eligibility, harming children and adults with mental illness.
effectively ends Medicaid expansion.
reduces help to purchase health insurance, leaving many people unable to afford the coverage they need for mental health treatment.
