Please raise your voice for access and join us at the San Joaquin River Conservancy Board meeting on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, 10:30 am, Fresno City Hall Council Chambers. At this meeting, the Conservancy Board will vote to provide direction to staff on how to proceed with implementing the River West Fresno, Eaton Trail Extension Project. Click here to review the board agenda packet. It is very clear at this time that the Alternative 5b access point will never be implemented. No agency, local government, or organization has agreed to fund the construction or operations and maintenance of the new road or parking area Alternative 5b proposes. Without such an agreement in place, Alternative 5b can't be implemented. There are multiple other issues created by Alternative 5b illustrated in the photos below. It is critical for you to make your voice heard. Please come to the meeting on Wednesday, and tell the Conservancy Board to approve a project that can actually be implemented. It is time to move Fresno River West forward, and Alternative 1 is the way to do so. This is Spano Park. It would be decimated by construction of a road through the middle of it under Alternative 5b.

Alternative 1 includes access on Riverview Drive - an existing connector street built to serve a riverbottom development that never took place. Riverview Drive is not a residential street, and it is so wide that you can park 7 cars across it. The distance from the corner of Audubon and Del Mar to the entrance gate is approximately 736 feet or 245 yards, and does not cross in front of any homes or driveways.
