Less than 4 weeks.
That is all the time left in this session of the legislature to pass the 2050 Roadmap bill, which will update the Global Warming Solutions Act to net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 and set strong interim targets to ensure we're on track to reduce Massachusetts' emissions at the rate required by the latest science.
As former Secretary of State John Kerry said when he joined a recent state oversight hearing on climate change - it is up to the states to act.
This crisis has shown us time and time again that the most vulnerable are hit the hardest. It's time to formally link environmental justice to climate action by codifying much stronger environmental justice language. We need to pass the Roadmap Bill (
) and a strong environmental justice bill (
) this session.
Please ACT NOW to move our Legislature to act this session.

Dear YOUR REPRESENTATIVE'S NAME,
Thank you for your efforts during these trying times. As the temperatures outside rise to levels we rarely used to reach, it reminds us all that the need to address climate change has not abated.
Please ask House Ways and Means to bring H.3983 - An Act to create a 2050 roadmap to a clean and thriving Commonwealth to the floor for a vote. This a no-nonsense approach to reducing emissions and setting interim targets.
I also urge you to ask that strong environmental justice language be included as a package or amendment to this bill - specifically H.4264 - An Act relative to environmental justice and toxics reduction in the Commonwealth.
We cannot wait another two years to address the looming threat of climate change.
