As League members, we know that true democracy depends on equal rights for all people. Losing our right to reproductive choice would open the door to the loss of other freedoms, such as marriage equality, contraception, and gender-affirming care. Channel your outrage into action this week at both the state and federal levels.
1. Attend a rally: LWVMA is partnering with reproductive rights champions and allies Planned Parenthood Action Fund of Massachusetts, Reproductive Equity Now, and ACLU of Massachusetts this Saturday, May 14 at 12 noon at Parkman Bandstand on the Boston Common to rally for #BansOffOurBodies. Can’t make it to Boston? Find other locations here. The forecast calls for a scorcher of a day so be sure to bring plenty of water, a hat, and sunscreen. H.1196/S.673 An Act ensuring access to full spectrum pregnancy care. This bill would provide financial assistance for a full-range of pregnancy-related care. See our testimony.
