In a week when the U.S. President's taxes and the tax loopholes available to the wealthy have been a hot topic of discussion, we'd like to draw your attention to the approximately 8 million people in the United States who receive a monthly Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefit from the government. Elders, adults and children with disabilities, all facing extreme poverty, depend on this essential safety net. Thanks to outdated, strict asset limits, they are in danger each month of losing that benefit. The ASSET Act would help, but it needs your support!

Please click here for more information, and contact your U.S. Reps and Senators today. As Congress continues to debate further stimulus relief, let's not let the neediest among us be forgotten.

Join us Thursday, October 15, @ 6pm
for our first VIRTUAL Civics Trivia Night!

The pandemic means canceling our traditional in-person Civics Trivia Night, but who doesn't love fun, friendly competition with a small twist of civics know-how? So we're forging ahead, virtually!

If you'd like to join us (and we hope you do!), please RSVP to It's free to participate (though we're happy to accept donations here), and though we can't provide our legendary snack rounds, there will be prizes!

Plus, we've cut our usual 5 rounds to 3, so we'll be done long before the second presidential debate begins.

These times have challenged us to reinvent how we work, learn, and live. Take a break and join us for a bit of convivial civics trivia!
