The first 2019 San Joaquin River Conservancy Board meeting will be held next
Wednesday, January 9, 10:30 am at Fresno City Hall, in the Council Chambers.
At this meeting, the Conservancy Board will evaluate whether the proponents of the Alternative 5b road and parking lot have met the milestones required to move forward with the project.
You may recall that the San Joaquin River Conservancy Board approved the Fresno River West Lewis S. Eaton Trail Extension Project in December 2017. The Board selected the proposed project with the addition of an access point known as Alternative 5b located near Palm and Nees, and included a 1-year timeframe for 5b proponents to demonstrate the feasibility of this alternative.
The one-year timeline is up, and now the Conservancy Board must evaluate whether the 5b alternative is truly a viable project.
Please join us at the meeting to hear the update and provide your input to the board.
In addition to the important agenda item on Fresno River West, this will be the first official meeting for the Conservancy's new Executive Officer John Shelton. There are also two new Conservancy Board Members, Madera City Council Member Santos Garcia and Fresno County Supervisor Nathan Magsig.
