Greetings!
Here's an Action Alert for those wanting to ban gas leaf blowers.
Hello. We are reaching out to you because you have declared your support for a ban on gas powered leaf blowers. Well, the
QuietClean
team has some good news. We have an informational hearing scheduled in the Oregon State Legislature’s House Energy and Environment Committee on June 18th for HB 3350, which proposes a statewide ban on two-cycle gas powered leaf blowers by January 1, 2023. This bill will not reach the floor of the legislature for a vote this session, however an informational hearing is a great way to educate legislators and the public about the environmental and public health hazards of these horrible pieces of lawn care equipment.
And now we need your help. Written testimony is compelling, both for now and in the future. Such testimony becomes part of the permanent public record and is valuable to the success of our shared campaign.
So please take some time to submit your support for HB 3350 and for transitioning away from two-cycle gas powered leaf blowers. You can write about the environmental damage, the noise pollution, and/or the toxic air pollution caused by these tools. Here is the page from the Oregon Legislative Information System web page that contains the link.
If you are interested in being present for the hearing (show your support!) and possibly signing up for the Public Comment section of the hearing, please let us know. We appreciate your support at whatever level you are willing to participate. Feel free also to use the share buttons above to share this newsletter via social media.
Thank you,
Michael Hall for the QuietClean Team
