COMMUNITY IMPACT

BankOn: Credit Building

In June, United Way of Northeast Louisiana, along with Kelli Gilliam with Centric Federal Credit Union, Marlon Owens with Ouachita Valley Federal Credit Union, and Caleb Burns with Progressive Bank, hosted two BankOn NELA Saving workshops.

These workshops focused on the process of getting credit, analyzing good and bad credit, and how to manage/harm one’s credit. By the end of these sessions, participants were able to better understand how credit is earned and possess a greater understanding of the consequences of poor credit. Participants talked about the 5 C's of credit, credit reports, and credit scores.

Resource Development: CEO Visits and Calls

Our Resource Development staff and 2023 Campaign Cabinet volunteers are busy this summer visiting local business leaders across our communities who support employee workplace campaigns in their companies.

These very important CEO visits give United Way the opportunity to thank the company for their outstanding partnership and share how an investment helps provide our most current services and programs across the 12 parishes served.
