Campaign 2022: CEO Visits
Our Resource Development staff and 2022 Campaign Cabinet volunteers are busy this summer visiting local business leaders in our communities who support employee workplace campaigns in their companies.
These very important CEO visits give United Way the opportunity to thank the company for their outstanding partnership and share how their investment helps to provide our most current services and programs in the communities we serve.
If you know of any local businesses or individuals who would be interested in partnering with United Way of Northeast Louisiana and learning more about how we can work together to help people and improve our communities, please email mtolar@unitedwaynela.org.

Celebrating Juneteenth
Do you know the story of Juneteenth?
On June 19, 1865, Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas with the news that the more than 250,000 enslaved Black people in the state were free. This day came to be known as Juneteenth, now officially a federal holiday.

NBC 10 and FOX 14's Annual Veterans Food Drive
Once again, we were proud to partner with employees from NBC 10 and FOX 14 as they participated in sorting, bagging, and transporting 4.8 tons of non-perishable food items to the Wellspring in Monroe to be distributed to area homeless veterans.
The food was donated by customers at Mac’s Fresh Market locations in Monroe, West Monroe and Columbia by purchasing $6 bags and from general donations from the public. The total amount donated over four years is expected to be about 28 tons.
The event was a part of Nexstar Media Group’s annual Founder’s Day of Caring, a day on which Nexstar’s TV stations pick a method of giving back to the community and volunteering their time on or around the anniversary of the company’s founding, June 17, 1996.
Representatives from NBC 10 and FOX 14 would like to thank, Mac’s Fresh Market, Drax, the Wellspring, the United Way of Northeast Louisiana, Johnny’s Pizza House, Newk’s Eatery, Slim Chickens, Zaxby’s, Chick-fil-A, and King Springs for helping make this year’s food drive a success.

From Ready4K: Transition Time Tips for Kids of All Ages
As parents, caregivers, and educators, we all prepare children for big and small transition times. A great example is the support we provide to students as they transition into Summer. We help kids transition in small ways too, from daytime to bedtime, and morning to school. The resources I found with Ready4K to help ease my toddler’s transition time are very helpful for kids of all ages.
