BANK ON NELA:

Credit Building

United Way of Northeast Louisiana hosted a BankOn NELA Credit Building Workshop on Thursday, April 18.

 

This workshop taught participants the process of getting credit, analyzing good and bad credit, how to manage/harm one's credit, and understanding a credit report.

BANK ON NELA:

Borrowing and Debt Repayment

United Way of Northeast Louisiana is hosting a BankOn NELA Borrowing and Debt Repayment Workshop on Thursday, May 16.

 

This workshop will focus on the different loan and borrowing options, strategies for how to best manage debt, and tackling debt repayment.

 

The workshop will be held at the Miller Roy Building, located at 1001 Desiard Street from 12 to 1 p.m. There will also be a Zoom option available. Register below!

America Saves Week just concluded, offering a time for individuals to take a moment to assess their financial health. We hope you joined us for #ASW2024, which took place from April 8 – 12, featuring helpful tips, resources, and events centered on financial wellness. VOLUNTEER UNITED

PLAYGROUND STENCILING:

Are you interest in volunteering with United Way of Northeast Louisiana? We have a volunteer event coming up on Friday, May 3 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.


The volunteer event is put on by the LSU Ag Center. Volunteers will help with painting a playground and benches at Bryan Smith Park. The park is located at 424 Lee Street in West Monroe, Louisiana.

ADVANCION GOLF TOURNAMENT:

Are you interest in volunteering with United Way of Northeast Louisiana? The annual Advancion Golf Tournament is on Friday, September 20 from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Shifts are available for volunteers who want to volunteer for a shorter period of time.


Volunteers will help with gimmick holes. The event will be held at Chennault Park Golf Course (8475 Millhaven Road) in Monroe.

211 DASHBOARD

Now introducing our United Way of Northeast Louisiana 211 Dashboard!


These dashboards contain aggregate information, non-personally identifiable information about help seekers who have contacted United Way 211 since January 1, 2019. The first page illustrates the locations of help seekers. The second page looks at the number of referrals and types of services referred during the interactions. The third page looks at the needs expressed by help seekers. The final page explores the demographics of the help seekers. You can view the dashboard by clicking the button below. FEDERAL STUDENT AID: 2024-25

NEED HELP? 211 is available

Students and parents can now complete the 2024-2025 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form for the 2024-25 academic year. Recent changes to the federal financial aid system mean more students than ever may qualify for federal need-based aid, which could include grants, scholarships, work-study funds, and loans.


To access financial aid, students and parents need to complete the FAFSA. Click the link below for more information and to get started.

The United Way of Northeast Louisiana 211 team offers free, confidential support and is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to listen to your needs and to assist you in identifying available resources for you.
