Campaign 2021:
Outstanding Campaign Support Continues at Hunt Forest Products, LLC

We were excited to visit with our Corporate Partners at Hunt Forest Products this month! In attendance were Brandon Ewing with Ewing Timber, Jake Slocum with American National Insurance, Candy Gerace, Campaign Coordinator, Richie LeBlanc, CEO, and Michelle Tolar, United Way NELA Director of Development.

Richie and his team have already begun planning their 2021 United Way Campaign for this fall. Their employees look forward to a fun and engaging time to come together and support the community. Last year’s “pirate-themed” campaign included food, games, contests, and prizes, which resulted in their very generous employees almost doubling their giving to United Way!

This team is excited to get started and proud to support United Way of Northeast Louisiana. Hunt Forest Products, thank you for your commitment to the work that we do!

Team Fields is unstoppable! United Way Campaign Cabinet Members Dr. Ashanti Jones of ULM, Dr. Valerie Fields of ULM, Brenda Johnson of iBERIABANK, Tommy Barker of Marion State Bank, Kristen Chandler of ULM, and Allyson Sager, Resource Development Manager at United Way, recently gathered as a team to discuss the campaign history of each of their company selections and to develop growth strategies to help businesses further support our community during the 2021 Campaign year.

UWNELA 211 Updates:
WMWO Chamber Community Hiring Fair

We were thrilled to partner with the West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce to help spread the word about a Community Hiring Fair at the West Monroe Convention Center. Doors were open to the public at 12:00 p.m. and remained open until 5:00 p.m.

The event was completely free for the community, thanks to the City of West Monroe and the West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce.
The Hiring Fair encouraged the underemployed, unemployed, and those seeking career change opportunities to be able to match, in person, with our many community businesses that are hiring.

To receive information about the event and a list of job opportunities, job seekers were able to text the keyword NELAOPPORTUNITY to 898-211.

Utilizing technology available through United Way NELA 211 underscores one of United Way of Northeast Louisiana’s goals – to help individuals have the knowledge, skills, and support to make choices that increase their financial stability and advance their economic mobility.
