Registration for 2024 winter and spring programs and activities begins Tuesday, Jan. 2 at 8:30 a.m.

To register for programs, please visit our registration website to set up an account first.

Online registration is the quick and easy way to enroll in an activity.

Walk-in at Beulah Recreation Center, 6901 Hopkins Road, weekdays

8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. to register in person.

Note: Walk-in registration Monday, Jan. 15- Friday Jan. 26 will take place at the

Rose Building, 6701 Mimms Loop in the Chesterfield Government Complex.

VCU Small Jazz Ensemble Performance

Celebrate Black History month with a jazz performance VCU's Small Jazz Ensemble. Learn about the history of jazz and enjoy a performance by talented students in VCU Arts Music program: Malik Gray (saxophone), Rinatt Montoya (guitar), Jaden Graham (bass), and Charles Brown (drums). Aging Well with The VirginiaNavigator

Find local support services for seniors and caregivers with a click of a mouse. Bonnie Scimone, Lead Community Specialist and Marketing Assistant at VirginiaNavigator, will share information and demonstrate how to use SeniorNavigator; an online directory of 26,000+ resources to help older adults remain independent and support family caregivers. Get information on health and aging issues, financial concerns, legal questions, caregiver support, and housing and assisted living communities. The four key topics are Social and Community Engagement, Navigating Your Healthcare, Brain Health, and Elder Abuse.

Drumming Up Wellness

Cardio-drumming combines a low-impact aerobic workout with drumming movements. Use drumsticks or pool noodles to drum to the rhythm of music for an easy but effective workout. Participants will need to bring their own 65 cm exercise or yoga balls. Instructed by Bentley Cobb.

Indoor Rock Climbing

Designed for older adults, this rock-climbing class shows how this is an easy, low impact activity for people of all ages, with visual goals and a greater sense of accomplishment. 2023 Highlight

Holidays at The Jefferson Hotel


On a recent trip in December, participants enjoyed guided tour of the historic State Capital and a luncheon at The Jefferson Hotel. It was beautifully decorated for the season, including the iconic Christmas tree. In the afternoon we toured one of Richmond's most historic homes, Agecroft Hall.

CHESTERFIELD TRIAD

Chesterfield Triad is a partnership among the county’s Sheriff’s Office, Police Department, Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department, Aging & Disability Services, older adult service organizations, and individuals from the community. It strives to educate seniors and caregivers about programs, services, techniques and systems that help prevent crime against seniors and improve their quality of life. Triad meets the third Thursday of each month at 10 a.m. at North Courthouse Road Library January 2024. Then at the Beulah Recreation Center, 6901 Hopkins beginning February 15, 2024.
