Quote of the Month:
In a society that has you counting
Money, pounds, calories, and steps,
Be a rebel
And count your blessings instead.

In trying to write an article for this month, I came across the following verse. It seemed to say everything that needed to be said, so here it is. We look forward to seeing you in the office as soon as we have moved through this difficult time. Be sure to connect with us on Facebook!
My grandmother once gave me a tip:
In difficult times, you move forward in small steps.
Do what you have to do, but little by little.
Don't think about the future, or what may happen tomorrow.
Wash the dishes.
Remove the dust.
Write a letter.
Make a soup.
You see?
You are advancing step by step.
Take a step and stop.
Rest a little.
Praise yourself.
Take another step.
Then another.
You won't notice, but your steps will grow more and more.
And the time will come when you can think about the future.

Spring has sprung
The grass has riz
I wonder where
The birdies is.
-Attributed to Ogden Nash or Anonymous
Bad grammar aside, this was a staple saying in my house growing up. Maybe you have heard this little ditty before or some variation of it. Yes, Spring
has
sprung and grasses are on the rise, but it feels very different this year. The current “Stay at home” order in Maryland feels quite confining to me when I am used to going to the local farm or Home Depot and buying annuals and perennials to liven up my gardens. I am eager to color my world with new life and watch as my nurturing skills are measured by inches and blooms.
I stumbled upon a handful of Morning Glory seeds in my shed and an elementary school memory came to mind. In third grade, we would start seeds by placing them between wet paper towels and watch each day for the seeds to crack open and begin their journey to life. So, I set up a dish with paper towels, seeds and water and waited for the magic to begin. Within days, I could see movement and growth. After a couple more days, I placed them in soil and added a heat lamp. Boom! Soon my new green family was bursting through the soil, rising up to meet me. So I decided to name them. Okay, maybe some of you do, maybe some of you think I’m crazy, but every morning I am excited to see how Glory, Marty, Coco, Cory, and the gang are doing. I am so surprised about how this makes me feel happy and hopeful. Spring has sprung right here in my office and it lifts my spirit and reminds me that tomorrow has great promise.
