NEW Monday Night Bible Study - Mountains

Mondays at 7:00 pm

February 26 - March 25

Mountains are thin places where heaven and earth meet. So often in scripture and in life, we have climbed Mountains to find God! Join us as we study some of the Mountains and stories of people on those Mountains. In this Bible Study we will rediscover our vision and restore our hope in God’s presence. We will dig deep into scripture and see what God has to tell us about the mountains in our lives. We will meet Monday nights at 7 pm starting February 26th.  Register by February 22, purchase the book Mountains by Kat Armstrong.

Ash Wednesday Service

February 14 at 7 pm

Join us for this special service filled with music, message, & imposition of ashes.

Daytime Imposition of Ashes

7:00 - 9:00 am - Pastor Emily will be at Starbucks, 3622 Cobb Pkwy (near Walmart)

12:00 - 1:30 pm - Pastor Angie will be in the Sanctuary

We invite you to receive your imposition of ashes earlier in your day to publicly proclaim your faith and our humanity. We can be tangible, living examples of humble, penitent, loving Christians. Christians more willing to accept our own sin than to point out the sins of others. It's powerful. Sacred. Meaningful. Life-changing. Join us on Ash Wednesday.

Powerful Tools for Caregivers Workshop

Mondays from 10:00 - 11:30 am (Zoom)

February 19 - March 25, 2024

or Tuesdays from 6:30 - 8:00 pm (Zoom)

More than 44 million people in the United States are providing either full-time or part-time, unpaid care for a family member or loved one over the age of 18 who is ill or has a disability. The impact on those caregivers is huge — physically, emotionally and financially.

Powerful Tools for Caregivers is a 6 week series designed to help caregivers learn to take better care of themselves. It does not teach hands-on care or focus on disease conditions.

Participants will learn to:

Reduce stress

Improve caregiving confidence

Establish balance in their lives

Communicate their needs

Make tough decisions

Locate helpful resources

NEEDED: Next Gen Helpers on Sundays

9:30 & 11:00 am

Friends, we are growing! God is moving in our children and families through Next Gen. But this means we have enough hands to serve our kids on Sunday mornings.

We need your help a couple times a year. Come serve by helping the teacher with crowd control, supply runs, potty trips, and snack handling!

This is a great way to serve

FAN Goal of the Month

Be physically active at a moderate intensity (e.g., brisk walking) for

150 minutes per week.

Facts:

  • Long lasting change comes in small steps.
  • If 5 minutes is the most moderate intensity physical activity you can do at one time, that’s ok. Make the most of 5 minutes. Increase little by little!
  • Every minute counts!
  • To reach your goal of 150 minutes, every minute counts. You do not have to go to the gym for at least a 30 or 60 minute workout all at once. You should seek to move more and sit less throughout the day. Remember, some physical activity is better than none.
  • Physical activity helps keep you healthy.
  • A few of the benefits of regular physical activity include preventing high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease and overweight. Physical activity also helps maintain control if one already has these conditions. Expect better sleep, more energy, and to feel good.

Here’s your mission… Test out a pedometer or fitness tracker (e.g., Fitbit) or fitness app and start tracking your steps! How many steps can you get in today? How about tomorrow? Do you walk more or less on weekends? Over time, try to in-crease your steps to at least 8,000 to 10,000 each day.
