Let’s Meet Jesus Together!
Lent is a time where our church intentionally focuses on getting closer to Jesus as we prepare for Easter. We concentrate on a Spiritual Discipline—a practice designed to help us deepen our faith. This might include setting aside time to pray, read scripture or complete a devotional. It might instead look like a fast, a period of time, dedicated to God where we abstain from something. Some fasts might include cutting out a particular food, limiting TV or screen time, or to intentionally stop complaining or gossiping! Anything you choose to do should be something designed to connect you to God.
One of the practices that continues to strengthen us as a church family is to read scripture together. During Lent, I would like to challenge you to read through the Book of John with us. We will read 3 chapters a week and each week’s sermon will center on a passage from the chapters we read together that week. So, your devotional life and worship will work together.
Perhaps reading through John can be part of your Lenten journey. What else can you do to get close to Jesus?
Join us on Wednesday for our Ash Wednesday Service at 7 pm and receive your imposition of ashes during the daytime.
Can’t wait to meet Jesus together!
