Cindy L. Farley, PhD, associate professor in the School of Nursing & Health Studies, will study midwifery care in the United Kingdom through a University of Oxford residency program sponsored by Georgetown's Office of the President and coordinated by the Office of the Vice President for Global Engagement.

The National Academy of Inventors has named Louis M. Weiner, MD, director of Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, to its 2018 class of fellows for his research on new therapeutic approaches which mobilize patients' immune systems to fight cancer using monoclonal antibodies.
|
As the capstone project for the Global Health Initiative's Great Influenza Centenary Project, students from across the university took on mock professional roles and responded in real-time to the global spread of a hypothetical virus, assessing the disease's causes and transmission, and coordinating with international agencies.
