City of Reno Parks and Recreation
The City of Reno Parks and Recreation Department offers a wide range of activities and services. From sport leagues and rental facilities, volunteering opportunities, inclusion/adaptive recreation programs and services to parks and trails, there are hundreds of ways to recreate in Reno.
Adaptive Cycling Center Grand Opening!
The public is invited to attend the grand opening of the new adaptive cycling center at the Rosewood Nature Study Area in Reno, Nevada. Rosewood Nature Study Area is a 219-acre wetland habitat with approximately 2.5 miles of trail and serves as a great launching point to access the Southeast Connector bike trail as well as connecting to the Tahoe-Pyramid Bike trail. Such proximity to the community's bike trail systems makes it a prime location for our adaptive equipment rental hub. The center will offer a membership-based program that will allow persons with disabilities to access our many adaptive bikes and jump directly on the trail, no bike transport needed.

The grand opening will take place on Saturday May 6, 2023, from 9- 3:00pm at the Rosewood Nature Study Area at 6800 Pembroke Drive with FREE adaptive bike use, an adaptive bike rodeo hosted by Kiwanis Bikes, and cycling vendors.
Nature Hike at Rosewood Nature Study Area
In conjunction with the adaptive cycling center grand opening on May 6, attendees will also have the opportunity to explore the nature study area with the new Grit Freedom Chair purchased by Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation (TMPF) in memory of Jim Dickey, Past Treasurer of TMPF, and participate in a nature hike led by NatureTrack and Positive Ride.

Time slot sign ups to use FreedomTrax during the nature walk can be reserved by completing the registration form.
