Director's Letter: September Recovery Month

Dear Friends,

September is National Recovery Month, a time to raise awareness about addiction recovery, share crucial resources to support those currently seeking recovery, and to celebrate the strong, resilient recovery community. This month also serves as an important reminder to those facing addiction right now: recovery is possible.

In the spirit of raising awareness, we're hosting a free community webinar on September 18th at 7:00p.m. ET called Mind Matters: Understanding the Recovery Journey Through Science and Personal Stories. I hope you'll join us to learn more about evidence-based treatment options from our experts and to hear personal stories of recovery from those who have walked the path themselves.

If you or someone you know is open to exploring recovery, we are here to support you. Our dedicated team of medical professionals at U-M Addiction Treatment Services (UMATS) offers personalized, compassionate, evidence-based care for individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Additionally, we have collected a variety of helpful resources to assist you and your loved ones on the path to recovery and wellness.

In recovery, as in life, you don't have to know all the answers before you take the first step. We are here to work with you towards recovery, together, and you're never alone on your journey.

Sincerely,

Frederic C. Blow, Ph.D.

Professor & Director, U-M Addiction Center
