JUNE 2026 | VOLUME 1, ISSUE 6

Additional 40,000 digital materials now available

Download CloudLibrary app for quick access to e-books and audiobooks

During our emergency closure, we're seeking ways to continue serving our community well. In addition to the temporary, teeny-tiny library, which now has almost 500 books available for checkout, we're offering access to a new app with 40,000 digital materials.

Visit our website for more information, or click the image below to view a step-by-step tutorial.

Journey with us in June for summer-reading activities

In-person experiences hosted at Giddings Elementary School

More than 150 people have registered for summer reading. Have you registered yet? Key components of this year's June 1-26 summer-reading program include:

  • Convenient online registration with printable reading logs
  • In-person experiences at the Giddings Elementary School gym
  • Prizes distributed upon completion of reading logs
  • Prize pickup at the temporary, teeny-tiny library, and at all in-person experiences

Visit our website to register, download a calendar of events, and read a full description of this year's program.

PS: Don't let the kids have all the fun! We offer an Adult Reading Challenge in conjunction with our children's program.

Since the library's emergency closure in April, contractors have been hard at work on the building. This video walkthrough shows what the building looked like at the end of May. The next step is reconstruction.

After learning of supply-chain delays, the contractors have adjusted the completion timeline. We now expect the library building to re-open mid-August.

Follow us on Facebook for frequent updates about the building's progress.

A pair of authors struggling with writer's block try swapping genres to get their creativity flowing again, only to find themselves falling in love despite their best attempts to guard their hearts. My favorite read of 2025! -AB

We enjoyed organizing the Texas 42 domino tournament for senior day at the Lee County Fair. Carol (left) and Evelyn (right) won all five games and took first place.

Ten teams participated in the five-game round-robin tournament. The first-place winners are pictured here with Dominic Montoya, the 2026 Mr. Lee County Fair King.
