COVID-19 Update
Dear Residents,

The opening of the Community Testing Center (CTC) has been postponed to Saturday, January 15 to provide additional time to work out location and permitting challenges. There will be additional information provided as soon as it's finalized.
As previously indicated, the CTC will have capacity to provide 500 tests per day. Hours of operation will be Saturdays through Wednesdays from 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m. by appointment only. Appointments can be scheduled through the Virginia Department of Health's VASE+ Testing Appointment Scheduling Engine. Appointments typically open one day in advance.  The community will be encouraged to check back frequently as appointments are expected to be added regularly.

Secondly, beginning today, January 12, walk-in service will resume at health department vaccine clinics at the Government Center and the Hyland Government Center. These sites will be open for walk-ins Monday through Fridays. Appointments will still be required on Saturdays. Walk-in service had been paused since November to allow ample space for the 5–11-year-old population to make their vaccination appointments. We continue to work with our FCPS and vaccine partners to add additional school-located clinics to our webpage.

Lastly, on Friday the 7th, CDC expanded their new booster interval recommendation to include Moderna. This means that people who initially received an mRNA vaccine series – two doses of Moderna or Pfizer-BioNTech – can now receive an mRNA booster shot 5 months after completing their initial series. Last week’s blog has been updated to reflect this change.
Planned Lane Closures on I-66 East

Drivers traveling on I-66 East during this time should expect delays and consider using alternate routes. All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
