Where to Park & Check-in Location

Check-in will be near Conestee Nature Preserve's main entrance (A on the map) where the large archway sign marks the trailhead. Park in the County Park parking lot at 840 Mauldin Road, then walk to the main entrance to find our check-in table.

Volunteers in this area will clean up along the Reedy River near Conestee's main entrance and along a portion of the Froggy Bottom trail on the other side of the Reedy. Stars on the map indicate the sites. There are public restrooms at this location.

What to Do

Follow your site leader’s instructions at all times. Check-in is from 8:30 - 9 AM. We will collect litter from 9 - 11 AM. From 11 - 11:30 AM, we will ensure all litter is placed at the designated collection locations and that all equipment is returned to the check-in site. The cleanup will conclude at 11:30 AM.

What to Wear

Lightweight clothes. Long pants & long-sleeved shirts are recommended. Closed-toed shoes are required (old jogging shoes, closed-toed sandals, hip/chest waders, etc.). NO open-toed shoes. Clothes & footwear that you don’t mind getting wet and dirty. Please bring waders if you have them.

What to Bring

Bring a refillable water bottle and anything you need to be comfortable outdoors for up to three hours. Suggested items include a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, and a set of dry clothes and towel for after. We will provide litter grabbers, collection bags, and drinking water.

Afterwards

Celebrate your hard work at the 2024 Fall Cleanup Afterparty at Southernside Brewing Co.! Beginning at 11:30, Southernside will be graciously providing one free beer per person. Be sure to get a red ticket from your site leader before heading over! We hope to see you there!

Weather Notice

Our team is closely monitoring the weather forecast for Saturday's event. In the event of inclement weather or unsafe river conditions, we will contact you via email on Friday before 5pm and will reschedule to our rain date of the following Saturday, September 28. We will not send additional communications otherwise.

If you do not receive a cancellation email, the cleanup is still on!

Thank you so much for volunteering! Please reply to this email with questions regarding this weekend's event. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Thank you to our presenting sponsor, Grand Bohemian Lodge Greenville, our afterparty sponsor, Southernside Brewing Co., and our in-kind donation t-shirt providers, Dapper Ink Printers and Designers, for helping us maintain our community's treasure of the Reedy River.
