Dear yoga community,

Yes, we are still open and classes are running... so many of you have reached out to let us know how helpful your classes have been for you during this stressful period, and we are working very hard to remain available to you. But the health and safety of our community and your loved ones continues to be of utmost importance. So, we've implemented some additional preventative measures at the studio, to help reduce the risk of the spread of COVID-19 (coronoavirus). For the foreseeable future:

  • Class sizes will be limited. Please ensure that you are signing into classes through the app or Mindbody - link is here. (If you require assistance to sign-up, please call or email us - Sign-ups will be allowed up to one week prior to class. Sign-up privileges may be suspended for students who sign-up for classes and then fail to attend.

  • Please arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the start of class, as signed-in students will lose their spots to anyone at the studio and on the waiting list, if the class is full.

  • No late-comes to any class, no exceptions.

  • For student memberships limited to one class per day - this restriction will be strictly enforced - please be considerate of your fellow practitioners, and allow space for others to practice too. (Most memberships purchased since November 2019, have this restriction).

  • No bags, purses, etc. in the yoga rooms.

  • No wet/used towels, shirts, tissues on the yoga room floors or other studio surfaces - please keep your items on your own mat.

  • No class cards - please check in at the Front Desk prior to each class; we will count students in class to ensure that the numbers match the sign-ins.

The following measures also remain in effect:

  • Mat and towel rentals are temporarily suspended. Mats are available for purchase only, or please bring your own.

  • We have increased the frequency that we wipe down & disinfect surfaces, including floors, props, door handles, etc., in the change rooms, yoga rooms, and around the studio; however, where possible, exercise caution and limit your contact with these items.

  • For the time being, Instructors may or may not offer limited hands-on adjustments in classes, at their individual discretion. If you wish to receive hands-on adjustments in a class, please ensure that you place the appropriate place-card in front of your mat prior to the start of class (available at the front desk), and dispose of it as you exit the class.

  • We will continue to monitor health advisories and make any adjustments to our practices as may be necessary.

Please do your part - reminders:

  • Please wash your hands upon arrival at the studio, and prior to entering the yoga rooms, each time, as well as after classes.

  • If you have traveled out of the province, kindly avoid attending the studio for a 2 week period upon your return. Yoga Light Studio will place memberships on hold for any member in this circumstance.

  • Please use props only if absolutely necessary. All props used during a class must be set aside in the newly designated areas outside of the yoga rooms, so that they can be wiped down or sprayed with a disinfectant spray, separately, and after each use. Yoga straps have been removed from the yoga rooms - you may bring your own.

  • Restorative Yoga: Participants may wish to bring their own blankets or towels to cover bolsters and props used in class. Eye pillows have been removed from the yoga rooms - you may bring your own.

  • If you are experiencing symptoms of illness, please stay home.

  • If you are uncertain about how to proceed, please consult your health care provider.

We are continuing to diligently monitor updates and recommendations, and we will keep you informed of what we are doing at the studio as things may change.

If you have any questions or concerns, or if there is any other way that we can support you, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will respond as soon as we can.

Let's all support each other during this time of added stress. Deep breaths, stay present...

Nancy and the Yoga Light Studio Team
