This year, REI has awarded additional technical assistance funding to support the Michigan Inventors Coalition (MIC) Expo, scheduled for August 14, 2025, at the Kellogg Conference Center in East Lansing. This funding reflects REI’s commitment to fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and collaboration across the state. MIC’s mission to empower startup inventors aligns with REI’s focus on driving economic growth through innovation.
The Michigan Inventors Coalition (MIC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping inventors bring their ideas to life and supporting them through the innovation process. Through local groups, expert speaker sessions, one-on-one guidance, and collaborations with organizations like Michigan State University's EDA University Center for Regional Economic Innovation (REI), MIC equips start up inventors and entrepreneurs with the tools, connections, and knowledge they need to succeed.
Now in its 14th year, the MIC Expo brings together inventors, startups, small businesses, patent attorneys, and economic development professionals. Attendees will have access to expert panels and speakers sharing insights on critical topics for inventors and entrepreneurs, networking opportunities to connect with collaborators and industry professionals, exhibitor space to showcase products and ideas, and the "Spin, Pitch & Sell" competition, which allows inventors to refine their pitch skills, gain exposure, and compete for prizes.
With REI’s additional support, the MIC Expo aims to enhance resources for attendees and foster a thriving environment for Michigan’s startup inventors and entrepreneurs.
