March 11, 2020

Dear Faculty,

As you know, emails were sent March 10 to you and to CIM students with information about our decision to extend spring break through March 17. On March 18, faculty will begin teaching classes using remote technology through at least April 6.

We wanted to update you on the status of CIM staff and provide some additional important information for you to consider.

At this time there will be no change in staff attendance ; however, the Conservatory has decided to increase precautionary health measures for specific members of our faculty and staff population. Medical experts report that some persons are at higher risk than others of getting very sick from COVID-19. This includes:

  • Adults over the age of 60
  • Those with serious chronic medical conditions such as:
  • Heart disease
  • Diabetes
  • Chronic lung disease

If you are at higher risk for contracting COVID-19 because of your age or if you have a serious long-term health problem, it is even more important for you to take action to reduce your risk of getting sick.

If you have questions or concerns, please contact me directly to determine whether accommodations need to be made for you during this time.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and are here to support you in any way possible. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding in this urgent matter.

Respectfully,

Tammie Belton
Senior Director, Human Resources
